Mind in the Crease
ROB MASSIMI GOALTENDING & PERFORMANCE
Individualized Performance Development for Goaltenders
Goaltending development doesn't stop when you leave the ice.
Individualized on-ice work, performance consultation, and interactive video development are designed to complement your current coaching environment.

A More Complete View of Goaltender Development
Every goaltender develops differently. Technical ability matters, but development also includes what the goaltender sees, how they make decisions, how they prepare, how they respond when something goes wrong, and how they learn from their own experiences.
The goal is to build the development process around what the athlete actually needs.

The Approach
The Complete Goaltender Model
ON-ICE
Technical Development

Â
Individualized on-ice work develops movement, positioning, save selection, rebound control, and repeatable habits that transfer to game situations.
Â
On-ice application and interactive video help build reads, anticipation, situational awareness, and better decisions as plays develop.
One-on-one performance consultation works on preparation, confidence, focus, resets, response to mistakes, and performing under pressure.
VIDEO
ON-ICE & VIDEO
Hockey IQ & Decision-Making
Video-Based Learning
Interactive film review helps the goaltender slow the game down, recognize patterns, understand options, and connect reads back to game situations.
PARENT SUPPORT
Parent Education & Communication
PERFORMANCE
Performance & Confidence
Parent consultation supports communication, expectations, and the athlete’s environment while keeping the goaltender at the center.
DEVELOPMENT
Long-Term Athlete Development Planning
On-ice work, performance consultation, video, and ongoing priorities come together in a development plan that evolves with the athlete, season, and goals.

CONNECTED DEVELOPMENT
Working Alongside Existing Coaches
Already have a goalie coach? You don't have to choose. Mind in the Crease is designed to complement the technical coaching an athlete is already receiving and fit within their existing team environment. The goal is not to replace an established goalie coach or create competing instruction.
The goal is collaboration, not competition.
Connecting Training to the Game
Performance observations, video discussions, athlete goals, and on-ice priorities can help the goaltender better understand what they are working on and how it appears in real game situations. When appropriate, those priorities can also be brought back into the athlete's existing coaching relationship.
Learning Through Video
Interactive video creates another opportunity for the goaltender to learn. Rather than simply being told what happened, the athlete is encouraged to explain what they saw, what they anticipated, what options were available, and why they made a particular decision.

THE PERSON BEHIND THE APPROACH
ROB MASSIMI | FOUNDER
Why I Built Mind in the Crease

Mind in the Crease was created to provide the kind of comprehensive, individualized support I saw missing in the goaltending world. Technical skill is the foundation, but goaltenders also need ways to handle pressure, make better reads, and respond to the unique mental demands of the position. Through ice hockey goalie coaching that connects on-ice reps to real game situations, I built this to bridge the gap between practice and game-day performance.
